Skeet
Skeet
is easily the most popular shooting sport at the Fin. The fields,
which were recently renovated, are open at 9:00 a.m. A key for the
fields can be
obtained at the
Clubhouse. Members must leave their drivers license with the bartender prior
to using the range facilities. Members pay $2.50 per round
and guests pay $3.00 per round of skeet. Anyone who chooses to use the skeet
facilities must become familiar with the machines prior to doing any shooting.
There are summer and winter skeet leagues. Reloading supplies can be ordered
through the skeet chairman. For questions about Skeet, contact Joe Pirolo
at this email address: thorioki12@aol.com.

Members,
The Fin's 2007 Summer Shotgun Sports league was a rousing success. Many members shot Skeet, trap, and
5-Stand during the summer. Your summer league coordinators were Dave Fromerth - Skeet; Jim & Nancy Davidson -
5-Stand; and Bob Hruskocy - Trap.
Winners were Mike Sobol, A-Div, and Mike Sobol Jr. B Div in 5-Stand. Bill Spears, A-Div; Nick Krukoff,
B-Div.; and Roaslie Gifford High Womens all in Skeet. Brenda Liappes was high women in Trap.
The Club Championship which involved shooting 4 different 25 bird sports, Skeet, Trap, Modern Skeet, and
finally 5-Stand. Jim and Nancy Davidson like always did a fantastic job in organizing the days activities, from
squading shooters, preparing the fields, and providing referees Joe Pirolo(modern), Rich Rushman(trap), and
Jim & Nancy(5-Stand), Dave Fromerth organize the catering services of Audibetlt, and Brenda Liapes for the Bar
in providing a wonderful meal and social time after the championship, and joining the members from the summer
league. Dave wants to thank all the members and guests who participated to make this event and day enjoyable,
and to Bill Spears and Dick Palmer for keeping the skeet fields mow.
The 2007 Club championship is Mike Sobol, congratulations Mike for a fine job. The runner ups were John
Mathewson, and Dick Palmer. John and Dick had to have matching cards to determine 2nd and 3rd places, John
received 2nd and Dick 3rd.
Special thanks to all shooters, the day was great, as was the competition.

Sporting Clays
The
Fin's
Sporting Clays event is a new and growing feature at the Club. At present, there
are approximately seven sporting clays
shoots that are held at different times during the summer months. For anyone
who has never shot sporting clays, this is a great sport to get into because
this practice leads to great shots during the upcoming hunting season.
The Fin Fur and Feather Club has joined with the East Glastonbury and Colchester
Fish and Game Clubs in the Eastern Connecticut Sporting Clay Association to
provide 11 sporting clay events this spring and summer.

Trap
Trap is a shotgun game that has its own
special set of rules and is great fun for men and women, young and
old alike. As with the skeet fields, the trap facilities were
renovated recently and provide the trap aficionados and beginners
a wonderful
panorama for knocking down flying targets. As with the skeet program
at the Fin, the key for the trap houses can be obtained at the clubhouse.
Prices are the same as skeet. Once again, it is mandatory that the
user become familiar with the machines prior to shooting. For questions
about trap, contact Bob "Moon" Hruskocy at this email address: bhruskocy@finfurfeatherclub.com.
Remember: Safety First!
