Skeet fieldsCharlie Hill breaking clay at the club's skeet field.Skeet is the most popular shooting sport at the Fin. The club has 8 skeet fields, including one dedicated to Modern Skeet. The fields open at 9:00 a.m. A key for the fields can be obtained at the Clubhouse. Members pay $3.00 per round and guests pay $4.00. Anyone who chooses to use the skeet facilities must become familiar with the machines prior to doing any shooting. There are summer and winter skeet leagues. Sporting ClaysThe Fin's Sporting Clays event is a new and growing feature at the Club. At present,there are approximately seven sporting clays shoots that are held at different times during the summer months. For anyone who has never shot sporting clays, this is a great sport to get into because this practice leads to great shots during the upcoming hunting season.

2019 Sporting Clays Schedule

May 3rd Friday will be our set up date at 9 am. This usually takes about 2 hrs. easy work hours, please bring gloves, snipes, and leaf blowers, we'll meet by station one and the trailer boxes.

May 19th,
June 9th,
July 7th,
August 4th
Sept. 7th Saturday is the Ct. Ducks Unlimited shoot.
Sept 15th is our last shoot.

We need seven(7) trappers for each shoot, easy and fun work hours, report time is 8 am, finish about 1:15 pm. The ducks Unlimited Shoot we need 17 trappers. If you can work any of these events, please contact Dick Palmer 860-933-4768 or e-mail rpalmer12@snet.net, you need to sign up.


The club has 4 trap fields which can be operated by the Canterbury Voice Release System. The club does hold registered shoots during the summer. As with the skeet program at the Fin, the key for the trap houses can be obtained at the clubhouse. Prices are the same as skeet. Once again, it is mandatory that the user become familiar with the machines prior to shooting.
